On December 28, 2024, the founding conference of Huazhong University of Science and Technology Materials Entrepreneur Alumni Association and Materials Power Alumni Forum were held in the Alma mater. Miao Changxing, former first-level inspector of the First Division of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhou Yunjie, chairman of the Board of Directors of Haier Group, Zhang Yunjun, chairman of Hubei Sanhuan Forging, and other more than 100 outstanding alumni representatives returned to the campus to renew deep friendship and seek common development plans.

This conference focuses on the materials discipline and manufacturing industry, exchanges the latest scientific research and industry development results, aims to gather the strength of alumni, and build a dialogue platform for industrial integration and innovation development. As alumni representatives, General manager Feng Yi and deputy General manager Yu Jun were invited to attend the conference. Feng Yi was appointed Vice president of the Alumni Association, and Yu Jun was appointed as the first alumni mentor, who will contribute to the cooperation and exchange of the Alumni Association in his new capacity.

At the Materials Power Alumni Forum, Professor Wang Xinyun, chief scientist of Newwish, was invited to give an academic report entitled "Development of Forging and Forming Equipment for Industrial mother-machine". The report comprehensively demonstrates the technological innovation breakthrough, market strategy expansion and industrial upgrading practice of newwish in the field of forging and forming equipment, and vividly interprets the benchmarking role of the enterprise in promoting the progress of high-end manufacturing equipment.

In addition, it also reviews the development of China's forging industry, and especially mentions two professors who have made outstanding contributions to the development of China's forging industry - Huang Shuhuai, the founder of Newwish, and Xia Jushen, the chief consultant of Newwish. As one of the founders of the Mechanical Department of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Huang once served as the dean of Academic affairs and president, and devoted his life to the teaching and research of forging theory, forging equipment and automatic control technology. Professor Xia used to be the Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and has long been engaged in the research and industrial application of metal precision plastic forming theory, technology, digital forming technology, mold and equipment.
