Recently, the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Materials Entrepreneurs Alumni Association of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the "Materials Power" Forum were successfully held on campus. With the theme of "Uniting Alumni Strength and Promoting Industrial Development", university leaders, representatives of alumni enterprises, and current students carried out a series of exchange activities.

Dr. Feng Yi, General Manager of Newwish was invited to deliver a speech. He talked about the history of hot die forging industrial mother machines and his own growth path: after completing his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at HUST, he joined Newwish. Focusing on one thing and deepening roots in one place has gradually become the common temperament of the team. Long-term dedication and persistent progress have enabled Newwish to continuously make breakthroughs in the field of electric screw presses, making it a solid leader in China's hot die forging industrial mother machine sector.

The Materials Entrepreneurs Alumni Association has opened up communication channels among universities, enterprises and students, promoted the effective flow of knowledge, experience and resources, and laid a pragmatic foundation for university-enterprise cooperation, industrial innovation and talent co-cultivation.

Multiple alumni entrepreneurs have been appointed as class mentors for current students. They will be paired with classes and regularly visit classrooms to share real industry demands, practical problems, and even personal setbacks and experiences with students.

In the future, the alumni association will continue to play its role as a bridge, promote university-enterprise technological collaboration, support students' career development, and inject sustained momentum into the pragmatic development and innovative breakthroughs in the materials field.
